McDonald’s – Tap-to-Map Rich Media Ads

Objective: Drive foot traffic by enabling mobile users to locate nearby McDonald’s restaurants quickly and easily, turning ad engagement into real-world visits.

Creative Approach: We transformed existing McDonald’s creative assets into mobile-friendly, interactive ad units. The formats included both a compact 320×50 banner and a full-screen interstitial. The standout feature? A dynamic map showing the user’s nearest McDonald’s locations, complete with a “Get Directions” button that launches live navigation—making it effortless to go from ad to drive-through in just a tap.

My Role: I adapted brand assets into these mobile-first ad experiences, designing the UX flow for both banner and interstitial formats, integrating geolocation maps, and implementing the direction CTA. My work ensured the experience was intuitive, fast-loading, and seamlessly tied digital engagement to physical visits.

Impact: By simplifying the path from awareness to action, these rich media ads encouraged immediate, location-based engagement—perfectly aligning with McDonald’s drive-through convenience mindset.
